Creating Connections through Collections: Assessing Diversity of a Teacher Resource Collection in an Academic Library

Session Description

Through exploring relevant literature, collection assessment methods, and the challenges of defining and assessing diversity in collections, this poster describes the process of evaluating diversity in a collection of teacher resources at an academic library situated in a large culturally and economically diverse community. This poster also reflects on fostering connections with communities through collections, and recommends strategies for defining diversity in collection policies and working within existing budgets to build inclusive collections.
