This session will explore the advantages offered by an implementation of MODS as the primary descriptive metadata schema for a digital library’s collections and items. This implementation capitalizes on the availability of native XML infrastructure to provide functionality through an array of project-specific templates, encoded data model specifications, and customized data validation routines and transformation stylesheets.
