Before implementing EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), we were not aware of potential issues with our MARC records and how they would display in Discovery. As a result, we had not planned on several catalog cleanup projects related to our implementation of EDS. Awareness that there may be hidden problems with MARC records that a discovery layer will uncover may help other institutions have a plan in place as they begin their implementation process.
